The Acuter Elite Phoenix 40 is a safe solar telescope with a 40mm aperture front-mounted Etalon for observing active solar prominences and other solar details in the H-alpha band. It performs at 0.6 Angstrom or better.
With the etalon fitted, you can view the Sun in the narrow H-alpha bandwidth. The observer is rewarded with awe-inspiring real-time views of our nearest star, revealing details such as solar flares, prominences, spicules, surface granularity, sun spots and more!
With the etalon removed, the telescope can also be used as an 80/400 achromatic refractor telescope for regular astronomical observations.
It is supplied with a Star Diagonal, a Red Dot Finder and a universal smartphone camera adaptor, so you can use your smartphone to make a photographic record of your observations.
The Acuter Elite Phoenix 40 conforms to and meets the transmission requirements of ISO 12312-2:2015 (filters for the direct observation of the Sun).

Please exercise extreme caution when observing the Sun. Improper usage and practices can cause serious and potentially permanent damage to your eyes. Always follow the instructions carefully. Also, the 8mm blocking filter in the removable eyepiece diagonal is a vital safety feature of the Elite Phoenix 40. Do not use this telescope with any other type of diagonal.
